Training

It's essential that professionals working in any security related field have technical instruction and regular reinforcement of tactics used on the job.  Pain compliance involves obvious risk to both the actor and the subject.  A study of anatomy, legal consequences, and precedent give both officers and civilians a responsible understanding of what is involved with both self-defense and apprehension.

Repeated technical practice with expert instruction instills confidence and effectiveness, increasing safety for all parties.  Force on force practice dispels myths related to compliance and defensive training.

FST offers unarmed instruction as well as training weapon practice under the guidance of professionals.  Proper understanding must be demonstrated for course graduation and training can be adapted to fit individual or department needs.

Drawing from the best of a variety of martial art systems our curriculum is a high-speed low-drag competency course covering universal principles, all ranges of combat, psychological and verbal control, and team operation.

OUR PROMISE: Our courses are among the top in the world for speed of learning, knowledge retention, and overall effectiveness.

Our system is derived from Integrated Martial Arts; a unique approach to cultivating spontaneous and efficient warrior ability from the research and teaching of Brian Adams.  Adams authored Medical Implications of Karate Blows in 1969 as a first generation student of Ed Parker (Kenpo), and has spent over 50 years refining his curriculum. Influences include Bruce Lee (Jeet Kune Do), David German (Police Restraining Techniques), and Filipino concepts.  IMA continues to evolve with instructor continuing education and development; always learning, growing, adapting, and evolving.
